Job Description

API Developer | 6M Contract to Direct Hire | Remote (out of Des Moines, IA)

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced API Integration Developer to join our dynamic financial company. As an API Integration Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust API solutions that facilitate seamless integration between our systems and external partners. The ideal candidate should have expertise in C#, MuleSoft, Python, and a strong focus on API development and integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement API solutions to enable smooth integration between our financial systems and external platforms.
  • Monitor and optimize API performance, addressing any latency or scalability issues.
  • Develop API endpoints using C#, MuleSoft, and Python, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues, providing timely support and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable API designs.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in API development and integration.
  • Integrate and configure third-party APIs, ensuring compatibility and seamless data exchange.
  • Create documentation, including API specifications, technical guides, and troubleshooting materials.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in C#, MuleSoft, and Python, with a deep understanding of API development and integration concepts.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a passion for continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Experience with designing and implementing RESTful and SOAP-based APIs.
  • Knowledge of secure API authentication and authorization mechanisms, such as OAuth, JWT, and API keys.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Familiarity with API management tools and platforms, such as MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Apigee, or Azure API Management.
  • Proficiency in working with various data formats, including JSON and XML.
  • Proven work experience as an API Integration Developer or similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
