The ideal candidate has deep experience in production excellence, storytelling, and innovation. They are a strong keyframe animator who can demonstrate the principles of animation, and bring to life character performances to a high standard of quality as well as having the flexibility to support all animation needs. The candidate has ideally managed the responsibility and acted the role of delivering best in class animation at all stages of the production pipeline. There is a substantial R&D component to our development and production. Key Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of animation software and expert keyframe animation skills across a wide range of styles.
  • Thorough knowledge of pepelines and processes used in animation development.
  • Strong understanding of technical art workflow (deformation, skinning, simulation).
  • Extensive experience working through full production cycles delivering premium content (Film, TV, Games).
  • Ability to work independently, communicate effectively and collaborate well with a team.
  • Ability to anticipate, prioritize, and organize work to meet objectives.
  • Experience with pre-visualization (eg. blocking, tech-vis, virtual production).

Description

- Create believable animations for a wide range of characters, creatures, and subjects. - Collaborate across disciplines, working closely with designers, technical artists and engineers to create animation from conceptual phase to implementation. - Work with performance capture data to adapt it to project needs. - Assist in performance capture sessions with asset prep, choreography, shot lists, and direction. - Set delivery specifications and evaluate deliverables for other artists.

Education & Experience

Bachelors degree in Computer Graphics, Animation or related discipline, or industry experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to create rigs is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience. Must provide link to portfolio that demonstrates animation work.

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,000 and $207,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
