SPECIFIC DUTIES
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Takes "on-call" for weekends to be available for emergency trauma cases as needed and reprocessing of laryngoscopes.
  • Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Munson Healthcare Embraces and supports the Performance Improvement philosophy of Munson Healthcare.
  • In conjunction with Clinical Engineering (Bio-Med) is responsible for maintaining anesthesia equipment needed for patient care within the surgical suite and Pre-Anesthesia Care Area.
  • Maintains orderliness of anesthesia workroom/storage rooms.
  • Safety is a self-responsibility.
  • Supplies anesthesia equipment and non-narcotic drugs to the individual OR Suites and Maternity.
  • Responsible to cover peers vacation days and call in’s prn.
  • Promotes personal and patient safety.
  • Delegated by the Director of Surgical Services the ability to stock non-controlled medications in multiple locations in the OR.
  • Report any unsafe situation/equipment according to hospital procedure.
  • Uses effective customer service/interpersonal skills at all times.
  • Plan your actions to promote safety.
  • Know the physical requirements of the job and work within those guidelines.
  • Perform job duties safely at all times, utilizing learned body mechanics and transferring/lifting techniques.
  • Cleans all surfaces of anesthesia machines and carts between procedures. Maintains department stock levels of gas tanks stored in the anesthesia supply rooms.
  • Has basic understanding of Relationship-Based Care (RBC) principles, meets expectations outlined in Commitment To My Co-workers, and supports RBC unit action plans.
  • Delivers non-controlled medications to the OR Suite/Pre-Op Holding at the request of licensed personnel. Removes and re-supplies equipment between procedures and properly cleans/disinfects/sterilizes per hospital procedure (Infection Control/safety/Anesthesia).
