Job Description
The Analyst of Forecasting on the Research & Insights Forecasting & Analytics team will be responsible for full scale execution of the forecast workflow. This forecast process includes short and long term (next year, 5-year, 10-year) forecasts as well as tactical and strategic/ad-hoc analysis across a number of different business units and distribution end points.


This person will work with other science and analytics analysts to balance the art and science of forecasting to identify user consumption patterns, short- and long-term trends, emerging insights, and data anomalies, while understanding contextual drivers and making strategic recommendations to the team leaders. The Analyst position is mostly a tactical role but is expected to think strategically and help to execute organizational strategy.


The Forecasting & Analytics team is highly collaborative and works in an incredibly fast paced environment. The Analyst of Forecasting will be responsible for building strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and can drive both tactical and strategic projects.


Responsibilities:


  • Create automated reporting using Excel and visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Work with team members to translate highly ambiguous business questions into thoughtful and comprehensive analyses for stakeholders that deliver actionable insights.
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Support continuous improvement and increased accuracy of forecasting process by analyzing various data sources to identify trends and measure potential impact on forecast models.
  • Forecast ad sales supply for short, mid and long range forecasts inclusive of gathering inputs and incorporating business changes (product, editorial, programming, distribution, etc) into the projections.
  • Collaborate with analytics teams, leveraging statistical and machine learning to measure and project a user’s engagement with the Disney platforms across many KPIs.
  • Maintain continuous QA work to identify anomalies/bugs and ensure data is ingested cleanly


Basic Qualifications:


  • 2+years of related work experience
  • Reliable; resourceful; pro-active in approach to questions, looks for solutions and information in creative ways.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize, multi-task and work with multiple managers on a variety of projects.
  • Experience in forecasting, scenario planning, modeling.
  • Must live within a commutable distance to Seattle, WA office.
  • Proven history of building relevant qualitative business analyses and insights to drive decision-making.
  • Flexible; embrace new assignments with a can-do attitude; will seek out opportunities to contribute without being asked and strives to autonomously drive impactful projects to completion.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Strong analytic skills, high attention to detail and accuracy in a high-paced ambiguous environment either in a team setting or independently.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Microstrategy)
  • Experience with data management tools (SQL, Snowflake)
  • Knowledge and understanding of online advertising metrics as well as web analytics (Adobe Analytics, an ad serving platform, etc) is a plus.
  • An understanding of online metrics including impressions, page views, episode starts and their relationship to each other is a plus.


Required Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree is required, ideally in a quantitative field.


The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA is $86,680.00 to $108,350.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
