Job Description

As Americas Specialty Raw Materials Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of 6 global and regional souring professionals within the Specialty Chemicals procurement function. Direct reports sit in Pittsburgh, remote US locations, and in Latin America locations. Management responsibilities include coaching individuals to meet KPIs, managing team talent and development, and clear communication of regional and global leadership’s initiatives. In addition to reporting to the Americas Raw Materials Procurement Director and working with your peer managers in Americas you will be responsible for their own Specialty Category. Category responsibilities include developing category strategy for sourcing current and new raw materials while considering main formulas requirements, quantity, quality, delivery, and cost. You will develop and deploy the strategy globally and additionally responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiations, quality and delivery performance, and new product/new supplier onboarding in the Americas Region. The direct spend responsibility will be $50MM-$75MM annually, with oversight of $600MM in regional team spend.

  • Deliver Cost savings targets and EBIT expansion. Additional KPI include working capital improvement and cost avoidance.
  • Category Management Excellence

  • Single Source Reduction
  • Sourcing Strategy Development in line with Business strategy
  • Supplier development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree: MS/MBA is preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of direct management experience
  • Work background in coatings/chemicals/consumer products/pharmaceuticals is preferred.
  • Technical Chemical background a plus but not required.
  • Advanced Skills as follows: Sourcing Strategy and Implementation, Negotiations, Commercial Agreements, Forecasting, Bidding
  • 8+ years in Procurement of direct/raw materials or Commercial experience in a chemical field, global experience preferred.
