Job Summary: The Alumni Persistence Manager will lead and support the momentum and goals of the alumni persistence team as it seeks to engage the alumni network & assist them as they matriculate through college. This position reports to the Director of College Success and Alumni Persistence (C-SAP), as an essential member who will work directly with students, alumni, parents, external stakeholders and Cristo Rey Network (CRN) team members. She/he is responsible for the persistence of our university/college-attending DBCR alumni through both individual advising and the creation of programs/structures that help drive college persistence factors for students. This position will promote DBCR's mission of supporting students "to and through" college while developing students' knowledge, skills, and character. This position will also help to enhance the relationships with university partners and prospects, and access resources in the landscape of higher education. All her/his efforts will support the DBCR aspirational goal of reaching a 75% + bachelor's degree completion rate for all of our graduates. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Leadership & Professional Development: Serve as Alumni Persistence team leader by implementing, enhancing, and executing a framework and methodology for college persistence support of 2 and 4-year college students Lead in assisting alumni persistence coordinator in planning and executing alumni events (at DBCR and on campus) to cultivate connections and networking among alumni Implement programming, including internal scholarships, to support post-secondary persistence and credential completion Implement and lead in facilitating partnerships with University Partners, prospective partners, and donors to support DBCR alumni students enrolled in college Coordinate with the Development department and the Alumni Persistence Coordinator in planning and executing alumni events (at DBCR and on campus) to cultivate connections and networking amongst alumni Lead in Spring semester planning for matriculation into college for seniors Prepare reports on the alumni progress by conducting consistent research by utilizing data from Grad/SalesForce, National Clearinghouse, on internal and external trends Participate and present at national and internal professional development opportunities and conferences on post-secondary education advising Student Advising: Maintain a caseload of alumni enrolled in post-secondary programs and institutions and support their return to, persistence in, and graduation from these pathways by implementing and assisting the alumni persistence team in utilizing best practices for: Building healthy and appropriate relationships with the alumni Communicating with all alumni on a regular basis Advising alumni on navigating post-secondary concerns or decisions Partnering with families as needed to ensure alumni remain on target within their specified post-secondary track Tracking and ensuring that all alumni that are enrolled or re-enrolling have completed financial aid applications before national, state, and institutional deadlines for financial aid Serving as a bridge for alumni to connect with essential offices/individuals connected to their post-secondary plans Developing and delivering transitional workshops for multiple audiences that focus on the following: college/career terminology, "summer melt" checklist items, navigating diversity/equity, health and wellness, etc. Connecting alumni with community resources that will help them meet their individual goals including tutors, mentors, internship and job opportunities, summer programs, etc. Serving as a reference for students for jobs and various opportunities. Data Management: Use data to drive departmental goals by implementing and assisting the alumni persistence team in utilizing best practices for: Manage and maintain all alumni benchmark assessment data, contact notes, and enrollment information in the alumni database through Gradforce Guiding and assisting recording student meetings, action items, credit accumulation, enrollments, EFCs, and all other pertinent information toward college completion in Gradforce Reviewing transition documents for matriculating 12th graders including the Matriculation Passport and Pre-College and Cristo Rey Network Benchmarks and Averages Recording all alumni benchmark assessment data, contact notes, and enrollment information in the alumni database Act as the data liaison between C-SAP, CRN, Development, team, and any other entities requiring relevant persistence data by conducting continued research on enrollment, retention, acquired aid, college completion, and other items upon request Ensure that the CSC team collects and maintains necessary, relevant, and helpful data to drive college success and alumni persistence efforts Initiate generated reports on matriculation, college enrollment, persistence, and academic progress, on a monthly basis Partnerships and Collaboration: Provide supplemental support for the C-SAP team in the possible following areas: college essay advising, scholarship applications, financial aid, family meetings, supplemental workshops, etc. Support the department with various projects: cultivating post-secondary partnerships, reviewing credit accumulation data, persistence rates by institution, subject pass/fail rates, researching external trends in higher education, etc In collaboration with the Director, develop and recommend an annual budget for the alumni program Co-manage social media platforms with alumni persistence coordinator to keep Don Bosco alumni informed of college opportunities and the CRN community Build and maintain relationships with student support staff at 4-year college and universities to enable wrap-around service access and persistence of our students Collaborate with teammates to devise a strong student transition plan from the College Success team to the Alumni Persistence team Collaborate in the development and instruction of lessons to co-teach college prep course in the final semester for seniors to transition to college Maintain constant communication and collaboration with the DBCR Development department as alumni move to and through college, enter the workforce, and are stewarded as donors Supervisory Responsibilities: No Qualifications: Required Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Preferred: Degree in Secondary or Post-Secondary Education, Professional School Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Integrative Studies, Higher Education and Student Affairs, Higher Education Leadership or a related subject Significant experience working with first-generation, underserved populations preferred 5+ years in undergraduate/graduate academic retention counseling or student advising at the university level 3+ years of proficiency in Salesforce/Gradforce and/or National Clearinghouse and programs management & implementation Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Clean driving record and reliable vehicle Driven self-starter with a demonstrated track record of success in developing and executing on a long-term, multi-tiered strategy Demonstrates an embodiment of grit, community, zest/enthusiasm, and love of learning and persistence Has a proven ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders across functional and organizational lines Has outstanding project management skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously Sensitivity to working in a diverse multi-cultural environment Demonstrates strong analytical skills Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates unquestioned integrity, maturity, and commitment to the Don Bosco Cristo Rey "To and Through College" Mission Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required Knowledge of the Catholic faith, beliefs, and practices Understanding and commitment to the educational mission of the Archdiocese of Washington, the Salesians of Don Bosco, and the vision of the Cristo Rey Network Work Environment: General office environment Hours of work and days generally follow the school day schedule Work schedule flexibility required Travel: 25%
