The Alarm Maintenance Technician shall be a full-time, on-site (Washington, D.C. with occasional local travel in the National Capital region) position. The Alarm Maintenance Technician position will be required to perform installation, corrective maintenance, and demolition tasks.
The Alarm Maintenance Technician shall prepare maintenance reports and ensure that all work is performed safely, and that personal protection equipment is used, when required.
Duties
The following shall define, at a minimum, the duties that will be required for the Alarm Maintenance
Install and maintain Intrusion Detection and Access Control hardware such as electronic strikes, motion detectors, door switches, and badge readers
Perform daily tasks received from the Supervisor or the Senior Alarm Maintenance Technician (i.e., corrective maintenance, new installation, modifications, demolitions, preventive maintenance, etc.).
Prepare and submit corrective and preventive maintenance reports as required.
Education/Experience
The Alarm Maintenance Technician shall be knowledgeable of security equipment systems (i.e., intrusion detection, assessment, and access control). The Technician shall be capable of installing/maintaining electronic strikes, magnetic locks, various alarm, access control, and assessment system devices. At a minimum, the Alarm Maintenance shall have a high school diploma or state-recognized equivalent and shall have five years’ experience working in the alarm system field.

It is mandatory that the individual in this position be able to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, work extended hours, and travel independently. The individual must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Q/TS security clearance and must possess a valid state driver’s license.
