Job Description

Position Summary

Join our Maintenance team and receive a $10,000 Bonus! Receive a $10,000 sign on bonus when you’re hired as an Aircraft Mechanic at our Kahului station.

We're recruiting candidates for our upcoming training class beginning as soon as February 2023. Training runs for 8 weeks, typically Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, and is conducted at our Corporate Offices in Honolulu, Oahu. This position is located in Kahului, Maui.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs machine tool work in connection with the above mechanic maintenance work
  • Accountable for proper use and maintenance of equipment that's used to service, maintain and repair aircraft
  • Responsible for the repairing, servicing and maintenance of aircraft systems, powerplants, airframes, avionics and components
  • Makes certain that all safety and accident prevention measures are adhered to and corrective action taken as warranted
  • Inspects parts, sub-assemblies and completed assemblies only to the extent necessary to determine, accomplish and approve own work
  • Is responsible for accomplishing assigned maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair work on Hawaiian Airlines aircraft(s)
  • Accountable for production and assistance in interpretation and resolution of aircraft discrepancies
  • Accountable for the general upkeep of ground equipment in support of all maintenance activities assigned to them
  • Initiate, execute and sign forms, tags and other paperwork in accordance with the appropriate maintenance manuals. Review all paperwork for completeness and signatures. Release aircraft for service in accordance with Hawaiian Airlines maintenance logbook procedures
  • Shall be required to return an aircraft to service after maintenance had been performed as allowed by the GMM and the privileges of the FAA Airframe and Powerplant license

Pay and Benefits

  • Successful candidates will also be eligible for a generous relocation assistance program.
  • The pay rate for this position is $34.63/hr which includes the A&P license premiums and skill pay. Medical, dental and vision benefits are provided in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

Minimum Requirements

  • Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire
  • Previous aircraft maintenance experience preferred
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have own tools
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs. frequently and up to 70lbs. as needed
  • Must have a FAA Airframe and Powerplant license
  • Must possess sufficient experience and/or training to perform above duties
  • Must have a valid driver's license

**Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position. Failure to submit to testing or positive indications of drug use will render the applicant ineligible for employment with Hawaiian Airlines and any employment offer will be withdrawn.
