Position Overview

Seacrest Country Day School continues to grow and is accepting resumes for a part-time Aftercare Assistant for the 2022-2023 School Year. Seacrest values inquiry-based, student-centered learning aimed to empower and inspire students to create solutions to challenges faced in an ever-changing world.

This position reports to the Lower School Head and is assigned to care for and supervise a group of students enrolled in the After School Program Monday-Friday from 2:30 - 5:30 PM and available to work a full day schedule on teacher workdays throughout the school year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise elementary aged children in the after school program.

• Work effectively with students in after school activities and assist with behavior management, discipline, and interpersonal actions

• Set up after school daily snack

• Assist students with completing homework

• Interact and engage with all students–playing games, helping with crafts, sports and any after school program related activities

• Supervise students on the playground and ensure that they are playing safely

• Model positive behavior

• Transport students to and from Seacrest Enrichment Activities on campus, when in session

• Maintain excellent communication with classroom teachers, parents and Seacrest Enrichment Activity providers

• Support the mission and objectives of the school's core values

• Maintain accurate attendance records signing students in and out upon arrival and departure

• Assure the health and safety of students by following health and safety practices and regulations.

• Must be at least 18 years old and have previous childcare experience.

• Must be nurturing, enjoy working with children and interacting with them on a daily basis.

• After School Assistants are paid on an hourly basis.

• Sick time and Holiday pay for hours scheduled.
