We are seeking an Administrative Assiant I to join our Family Medicine clinic. This position is Part Time, 16 hours per week and is eligible for a 13% pay differential in addition to the base salary in lieu of benefits. Under general supervision, performs general and routine clerical functions in a medical clinic or clinical department in the hospital. Assists with administrative paperwork as delegated by clinical staff. May perform such duties as greeting, directing or escorting patients/customers, answering and handling telephone calls, scheduling appointments, data entry and working closely with internal and external contacts. May assist in facilitating work flow in the office/department, filing medical records, processing releases of medical information or data entry. Coordinates communication of nurses, physicians, patients/customers, relatives, visitors, and other departments as appropriate to assigned clinic or department.


Education


  • High School Graduate or equivalent


Licensure/Certification


  • May be required to have CPR/BLS certification, depending upon assignment


Experience


  • Preferred experience in one of the following areas Patient Registration; Medical Records/Health Information; Clerical support experience; Insurance Verification/Authorization/Referrals
  • Minimum of one year office experience, preferably in health care.


Skills/Knowledge/Abilities


  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to handle multi-lined telephone system.
  • May require demonstrated 55 words per minute keyboarding skill;
  • Familiar with computers (e.g. e-mail, commonly used software applications, intranet/internet);
  • Ability to work with confidential information;

The RN Clinic Care Manager performs case management and disease management of specific chronic illnesses and complex care coordination with specialists, care givers, social services, insurance companies, discharge planners and others playing a part in health care delivery. The RN Clinic Care Manager also manages transitions of care and monitors ED utilization and follow up. The RN Clinic Care Managers may see scheduled patients for condition monitoring, case management, education assessment etc. Care Management is conducted via face –to-face and telephone encounters. Performs RN responsibilities as defined by Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse {(ORS. 678.150/851-045-0030 through 851-045-0100} Nurse Practice Act(2008)} and reports directly to the Clinic Nursing Operations Director.


As defined in the performance standards, the RN Clinic Care Manager assists in the assessment, analysis, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care following established patient care standards for MCMC outpatient clinics.The RN Clinic Care Manager for MCOC primary care clinics will provide quality nursing care to patients consistent with MCOC Patient Centered Primary Care Home and the Planetree philosophy. The RN Clinic Care Manager serves in a clinical leadership role to the care team with primary responsibilities for disease management, higher level care coordination, and advice and triage needs for the RN Clinic Care Manager’s panel of patients. The RN Clinic Care Manager ensures that the team functions smoothly and efficiently while keeping the patients’ well-being paramount.

  • 4 years of RN experience.
  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Knowledge of clinical quality improvement models and process.
  • BLS required.
  • Experience with using every day technology tools (e.g, email, Microsoft Office including Excel, voicemail, internet/intranet) to access, organize and store job-related information.
  • For Cardiology department only ACLS is required.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
