Description
- Monday - Friday
- $24.25 - $29.56 / hourly / DOE
- Communicate with referral sources, insurance companies and other authorized entities to ensure that authorization for services is obtained
- Review and verify patient information for completeness and accuracy
- Keep abreast of changes in regulations and laws related to patient intake and insurance
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all patient information and correspondence
- Communicate with referral sources, including physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare providers, to schedule initial assessments and gather patient information
- Maintain the confidentiality of patient information in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Gather and maintain patient information, including demographics, medical history, and insurance information
- Provide training and support to other staff members on the proper procedures for patient intake
- Other duties as assigned
- Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed and submitted in a timely and accurate manner, including insurance verification and physician orders
- Coordinate the scheduling of initial assessments, including coordinating with the patient, family, and other healthcare providers to ensure that all necessary information is collected
- To help ensure the safety of Careage's vulnerable resident/patient populations, we require post-offer proof and/or completion of COVID-19 vaccination.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum of two years of experience in a home health intake or related role preferred
- Strong understanding of insurance verification, Medicare and Medicaid regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems
