Job Description
Dietary Administrative Assistant


Description Of Position


  • The Administrative Assistant demonstrates a positive, professional attitude and assumes responsibility for the organization and clerical activities of the Nutritional Services Department. Coordinates the planning and recording of activities and meetings.


Responsibilities And Duties


  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as needed and assigned.
  • Creates & amends catering calendar.
  • Processes vendor invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and validity of payment.
  • Coordinates meetings.
  • Distributes daily menu information accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Keeps filing system to maintain records for the department in a way in which they can be easily retrieved.
  • Prepares forms, files and spreadsheets that are necessary for the daily and ongoing operation of the entire department.
  • Provides consistent and service excellence oriented reception to all employees, visitors, vendors.
  • Collects and processes payroll data and reports.
  • Orders department supplies in a timely fashion and with accuracy.
  • Maintains meeting records.
  • Facilitates orientation of new employees.

Education And Work Experience


  • Two years in a similar or like position preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Associate of Science degree in Business Office is preferred, knowledgeable of various word processing and computer programs, spreadsheets, and typing.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Must be able to apply good judgment when making decisions, and have advanced prioritization skills.


Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Work requires a variety of physical activities, including moving about within and outside of all hospital properties for long periods of time.
