Job Description
Crisis stabilization services are a first-line alternative to hospitalization in state hospitals, providing psychiatric stabilization and detoxification for adults age 18 and over on a short-term basis. Highland Rivers has three crisis stabilization units (CSUs) that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as emergency receiving and evaluation facilities. The CSUs are available to residents of all 12 counties Highland Rivers serves.


Responsibilities Include


  • Check new admissions for last admission date.
  • Audit all open charts by ensuring all pages have consumer identification, chart stickers; check for any blanks or missing information.
  • Prepares and ensures copies of admission packets for nurses and techs.
  • Ensure copies of new admission face sheets, 24hr Report, and Daily Census are made for Treatment Team members, Sec III.
  • Direct telephone calls appropriately.
  • Verify insurance status
  • Transport consumers as assigned.
  • Breakdown of charts after discharge to be sent to medical records, complete discharge audit for client files.
  • Fax discharge follow-up appointment information to MH center or other tx facility on day of discharge, or scan into Carelogic for Highland Rivers follow-up.
  • Keep updated Master Copies of ALL forms.
  • Manage office supplies
  • Keep adequate supplies of forms for HST, Nursing, Physicians, and Case Managers.
  • Provide coverage for other HST staff as needed for lunch breaks, call-outs etc.
  • Reviews charts daily - carefully check legal forms on new admissions and after legal changes (involuntary to voluntary). Mail appropriate copies to representatives.
