Job Description
Are you looking for a rewarding career where you can change lives? The Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University is seeking adjunct faculty members with the passion to mentor, coach, and transform the lives of our students.
Adjunct faculty members are expected to coach students on our curriculum, moderate online discussion forums using their professional experience and expertise and provide effective feedback on student coursework submissions using the JWMI grading rubrics.
JWMI faculty members provide the highest quality education and maintain high standards of academic excellence.
Qualifications
  • Must have two or more of the following industry experience/knowledge: Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Quality Management (including quality assurance and control), Industrial Engineering, Product Development, Operational Excellence.
  • Must have a minimum of 7-10 years Senior Level Management/Leadership/Operations Management Experience required in the related field
  • Maintain smooth course operation and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • The ability to both coach and instruct adult learners in an online environment
  • Experience with the adoption of new technology and tools
  • Mastery in presentation skills, planning and organizing of course objectives
  • Commitment to student success
  • The ability to do occasional synchronous work with students
  • A deep understanding and appreciation for Jack's management philosophy
  • Maintain adequate records of student progress
  • Must be familiar with the following industry practices: operations and resource planning, capacity planning and analysis, customer demand management including forecasting and inventory management, supply chain management and operational excellence.
  • Experience teaching online at the graduate level
  • Professional certification in Operations and Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, Lean and/or Six Sigma is preferred. For example, from APICS/ASCM and ASQ.
  • Must be able to teach any of the quantitative courses when needed.

  • Education
    All degrees must be conferred and from an accredited institution to be considered.
    • Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable)
    • Master’s degree required in the related field
    • Terminal degree or working towards a doctorate (ABD) is required
    Essential Duties
    • Hold virtual Q&A or help sessions on course assignments
    • Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Evaluate and provide feedback on student coursework
    • Assist with development and refinement of curriculum
    • Create short videos to introduce new topics each week
    • Facilitate the delivery of JWMI’s curriculum
    Other
    • Must be able to lift 2 lbs.
    • Some travel will be required for faculty meetings
