Job Description
General Information & Responsibilities


Black Hawk College seeks instructors for the Optional Education program (High School Completion).


Classes offered at the Adult Learning Center in Rock Island, IL and the Outreach Center in East Moline, IL.


Adult Learning Center Hours


Monday - Friday, 9am - 1pm


Outreach Center Hours


Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 12:30pm


Pay is commensurate with education and experience.


Minimum starting pay for Adult Education Adjunct Faculty (as of Spring 2023)


Bachelor's Candidates start at $22.47/hr;


Bachelor's +15 candidates start at $24.35/hr;


Master's candidates start at $26.22/hr.

Description Of Duties


Using a provided curriculum, faculty member is expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate lessons and/or activities to enhance the students’ educational experience; evaluate students’ performance; and maintain classroom records, equipment, and instructional materials.


Education & Experience


Bachelor's degree required.


Illinois teaching certificate or substitute license required before starting position.


Oral English proficiency required.
