The primary purpose of the Part-Time Adjunct Faculty person is to teach courses in areas of their expertise.

The first year contracts courses focus on contract formation under common law and the Uniform Commercial Code, defenses to the validity of the contract, disputes on contract terms, parol evidence rule, modifications, performance and breach of contract, third party rights, non-monetary remedies and damages for breach of contract.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

• Revise, review and/or develop curriculum, as needed
• Teach a specified number of classes
• Collect and submit required assessment of student learning data
• Participate in appropriate campus and system committees, meetings, projects, and activities
• Complete all required professional development/training

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from a law school approved by the American Bar Association (ABA), accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California or registered by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California, required.
• Admission to at least one U.S. jurisdiction. An active license is not required, so long as the attorney has not been disbarred or suspended via a formal finding of discipline by that state, required.
• Prior Law School teaching experience, preferred
• Professional work experience in contract transactions, required.

California Pay Transparency requires a pay range for all postings. The pay range for St. Francis School of Law adjunct faculty is $1,500 to $4,000 per course.
