Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:
Provide Chemical Dependency counseling services to the Piedmont Healthcare Behavioral Health Programs. This will include group, individual, and family therapy.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides individual, group, and marital/family therapy/counseling
2. Provides chemical dependency assessments
3. Provides treatment planning
4. Provides discharge planning
5. Provides linkage to community resources
6. Provides referrals to extended treatment or continuation of care
7. Conducts psychoeducational groups and classes for patients and families
8. Functions as a member of interdisciplinary team
9. Ensures and maintains appropriate confidentiality, privacy and privileged communication
10. Maintains appropriate professional boundaries
11. Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
12. Is knowledgeable of and follows all policies in daily job performance

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Chemical Dependency certification required


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Six (6) months of supervised experience in an addictive disease treatment setting, and/or minimum of three (3) years of continuous active recovery in 12 step programs.


MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

Must maintain certification for CPI and CPR per hospital policy.
Must maintain professional certification as one of the following: CAC; CAC I; CAC II; NCAC II; CCS; CADC.
