Accounting Specialist - Part-Time Or Full-Time

Description:The Accounting Specialist is responsible for providing accounting services to the Steadman Philippon Research Institute. Responsibilities include managing purchase requisition and purchase order process, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Purchasing:

• Manage purchase requisition and purchase order process using Sage Intacct (Intacct).
• Monitor staff inputs and troubleshoot as required.
• Enter transactions as required.
• Provide staff Intacct training.

Accounts Payable:

• Address and respond to vendor inquiries.
• Prepare check runs and ACH payments.
• Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies.
• Process check requests and expense reports.
• Review, code, and enter vendor invoices.
• Manage accounts payable using Intacct.

Revenue:

• Process credit card payments.
• Process check payments/check donations.

Additional responsibilities:

• Assist with audit support as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets.
• Complete special projects as requested by Controller.

Requirements:

• Experience using Sage Intacct preferred.
• Experience in federal funding (2 CFR 200) preferred.
• Computer software experience including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Associate degree, or equivalate experience, in accounting or finance.
• Detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry and analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Minimum two years of practical non-profit or public accounting experience, preferred.
• Experience using accounting systems.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
