The Opportunity

We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our Firm. Within this position, you will be responsible for performing administrative and secretarial tasks for department management and supervisory staff. This part-time position will be based in our White Plains office and has a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.

As the Accounting Assistant to join you will:

  • Assist with the escheatment process.
  • Assist the Accounts Receivable department with data entry and filing.
  • Assist in some account reconciliations.
  • Assist all departments in accounting with administrative needs.
  • Provide information to attorneys, legal assistants, support staff personnel, and clients.

Qualifications

  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively with a team

Experience/Education

  • Minimum of six months’ related experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Salary Details

The starting base salary for this White Plains position is expected to be between $26.00 to $29.00 per hour. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
