Job Description
Applied Behavior Analyst (ABA) Technician: *ABA: Using the scientific method to make environmental modifications to change socially significant behaviors. *A college degree is required*Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is required*Minimum of 6 months of prior supervision under a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)*Has experience working with students with significant behavioral issues with the goal of bringing meaningful and positive change in behavior. *Has understanding of the underlying principles of Applied Behavior Analysis*Uses principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to teach skills and/or replacement behaviors, and effectively decrease challenging behaviors*Role of ABA Technician: *Assist BCBA in creating program books *Assists Learning Specialist, teachers and paras with consistent implementation of behavioral strategies including positive reinforcement, use of visual aids, de-escalation techniques, etc.*Collect data-- this includes specialized data collection as determined by the BCBA (i.e. ABC data, time sampling, frequency, latency, product data)*Graphing data on a consistent basis (e.g., at least weekly)- for students on their caseload *Review data with BCBA and Learning Specialist weekly*Monitors trends in the data and communicate issues to the BCBA and Learning Specialist*Probes interventions/collects data on the effectiveness of interventions for the BCBA*Implements and collecting data on discrete trial training*Implements intensive behavior intervention plans and assists staff in consistently following behavior plans*Assist in conducting functional analysis to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of behavioral strategies*Create necessary materials (i.e.
make token boards, visual rules, visual schedules, stimuli)
