.5 FTE English Teacher (Endorsement #100, 7-12 English)
Located a ½ mile from the Atlantic Ocean and 15 minutes from Portland, Old Orchard Beach High School is a 220 student comprehensive high school seeking a halftime English teacher to join our faculty. This is a 0.5 FTE (halftime) position with a schedule to be determined in collaboration with the successful candidate.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maine State Teaching Certification #100 (7-12 English)
  • Current and valid CHRC
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Deep understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous, relevant, and engaging English instruction to students of varying abilities
  • Experience teaching AP English Language and Composition preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices
  • Excellent communication with parents, teachers, administrators, community leaders and other stakeholders to promote and support student success
