Job Description
Maxar is seeking a 3D Texture Artist to join Maxar’s One World Terrain (OWT) team in Orlando FL. This team is responsible for the development of at texture art library used of 3D terrain models, and 3D moving models.

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of professional experience
  • Computer Graphics Arts education, with background in texture art development.
  • Experience with UV, Texture and graphics editor software (i.e. Adobe PhotoShop or equivalent) used to develop complex 3D Model textures
  • Working knowledge and use of commercial software applications (i.e. 3D Studio Maya, Max, or equivalent used to develop detailed 3D models
  • Bachelor's degree (or 5 years of experience in lieu of degree)
  • Ability to work both independently and on a team

The OWT program delivers 3D global terrain capability and associated information services that support a fully accessible virtual representation of the physical Earth through the Army network. OWT is a key component of the Army’s Synthetic Training Environment (STE), which provides a realistic, common and automatically generated global geospatial dataset for simulation, mission command and intelligence systems to conduct collective training, mission rehearsal and mission execution at the point of need.

Responsibilities:
  • Working alongside the Synthetic Training Environment (STE) One World Terrain (OWT) engineers creating complex texture art assets to solve modeling and simulation challenges
  • Responsible for acceptance, and completion of documentation to include but not limited to defect reporting
  • Support various new business development initiatives and coordinating with the STE Common Simulation Environment 3D Model development subcontractor(s)
  • Documentation of the OWT 3D moving model and static model specifications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Adobe Substance Designer
  • Prior experience developing 3D content for multi-player games developed for the commercial gaming industry
  • Pixologic ZBrush
  • Ability to obtain an interim DoD SECRET clearance (as required)
  • Experience with Unreal 5 game engine and or Unity Technologies game engine

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
$71,000.00 - $119,000.00 annually.
