2D Character Designer Jobs

Brazen is looking for a 2D Character Designer to join our team to help design the worlds our imaginative characters inhabit.

• Collaborate with directors and other concept artists to create a visual consistency with other characters, and overall look of the show
• Maintain consistent style under the direction of the Art Director
• Developing various versions and costume changes of the character
• Liaising with scriptwriters, designers, and developers on the look of the character/s and what style they are to be drawn in
• Can tackle a creative challenge head-on, and enjoys problem-solving with the team regarding design issues
• Adhere to production schedules
• Use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to create concepts and final assets
• Create model sheets showing characters drawn from different angles and showing different expressions
• Revise artwork according to feedback

• Knowledge of anatomy and zoology, costuming, and physical settings associated with a character
• A BOLD and strong collaborator and communicator
• Ability to draw in a variety of styles
• PASSION to explore innovative ideas
• Solid awareness of facial expression, pose, posture, gesture, and movement
• Be ACCOUNTABLE when troubleshooting issues and fix them
• Strong drawing skills, with a specialization in character design
• You are CLASSY and respectful in all that you do
• Experience in 2D/Harmony productions/environments
• COLLABORATE with supervisors and production to meet their project needs.
• You are GRITTY when it comes to working hard and solving issues
• Ability to work AUTONOMOUSLY
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, supporting multiple projects

• 2+ years of experience
• Experience with Rigging in Harmony is a plus
• Strong understanding of the 2D pipeline
• Strong Understanding of Adobe Suite, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Enjoys being challenged and can handle fast-paced production needs
• Enjoys working in a team environment
