You are a seasoned and talented Character Artist looking to build the next generation of games for Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive. You have multiple years of experience with Maya, Zbrush and the Unity Editor (or other 3D game engines like Unreal) and love to create fun and interesting characters for a live-service, online game.

Responsibilities
- Develop new character ideas that fit within conceptual designs, technical parameters, and production goals, for a live-service online game
- Create high quality, detailed 3D character models and assets
- Understand how to work with asset limitations, project milestones, and risks
- Ensure art assets are performant and within budgets for draw calls, poly counts, and texture memory without compromising visual quality
- Help define and maintain art production pipelines, tools, and systems to scale assets from high-end PCs to mobile Android VR headsets
Requirements
- Solid knowledge in hi-poly modeling and digital sculpting
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to give and receive feedback well
- Hands-on experience with game engines such as Unreal, Unity, or equivalent experience
- Ability to take a character to completion from either a detailed or simple concept image
- Excellent modeling, sculpting, material, and texturing skills for PBR
- Strong knowledge of low poly modeling techniques
- Expert in realistic characters with a solid understanding of character form
- Portfolio of highly detailed 3D art with a focus on realistic characters
- Deep understanding of asset optimization challenges/techniques in a shipped product
- Ability to effectively collaborate with game designers and programmers
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in game development as a character artist using Maya (or 3DSMax), Photoshop, Zbrush or Mudbox
- Excellent problem-solving and prototyping ability
Bonus Points
- Strong background in AR or VR
- Passion for eSports
- Strong knowledge of Marvelous Designer and Substance Painter
- Experience in animation and rigging
- Experience with Perforce and/or Git
- Knowledge of hard surface modeling for armor and weapons
