Position: Financial Technology Partners (“FT Partners”) is seeking Full-Time Research Analysts with a focus on Financial Sponsor Coverage to begin in July 2023.

Role Description


Research Analysts in Sponsor Coverage focus on supporting high priority investment banking business development activities, strengthening our relationships with the investor community and executing on M&A transactions involving financial buyers. While working at FT Partners, you will become an expert in FinTech while also learning the "ins and outs" of M&A and private capital raising, business development strategy and industry research. In addition to deal execution and relationship building, the role will also require the execution of key strategic initiatives, including working with senior software engineers to design and implement data infrastructure to provide better solutions for internal and external clients. This is an excellent opportunity to work side by side with senior bankers in an entrepreneurial and collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities Include


  • Leverage FT Partners’ proprietary database and alternative data sources to identify emerging trends in FinTech
  • Work alongside senior bankers to provide clients with M&A and financing advice
  • Develop high-impact, market facing deliverables including sell-side pitches, views on market trends, and analyses of investment / acquisition activity across FinTech
  • Perform financial modeling, company valuation, and financial performance analysis
  • Prepare reports, tables, and charts that present research results
  • Assist senior bankers in developing and implementing business development strategies and facilitating dialogue with Executive and Board level contacts


General Qualifications


  • Familiaritywith CRM processes and systems is a plus
  • Investment banking or related interest, and general interest in private equity
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of high impact materials
  • Strong data management and research skills
  • Team player with an ability to build trust and collaborate across teams and levels
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering top-quality work
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization is required
  • High level of commitment to the firm’s goals and success
  • Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a top tier undergraduate program, graduating by Summer 2023
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and takes initiative
  • Ability to perform under pressure amid tight deadlines
  • Ability to competently navigate investment firms and speak with investment professionals
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical ability with strong attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and a drive for excellence
  • Participate effectively in both internal and external meetings
  • High-level of integrity and ethical standards through action and behavior
  • Undergraduate degree with a 3.5 GPA or greater

The annual salary for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $80,000 - $90,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
