The Job: Materials Scientist / Engineer

Knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 QMS; Working experience in these environments is a plus.

Creative problem solving skills with an emphasis on product development Ability to work independently and with others as a team.

Hands-on experience on experimental design and execution are required to build correlation between processing, properties, and performance.

Hands on experience working in laboratory environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Semiconductor fabrication, MEMS, and polymer molding knowledge a plus

Ph.D. degree in materials science, chemical engineering, chemistry/electrochemistry, or related scientific background with 0 to 3 years of experience or equivalent

Knowledge in lithium-ion battery electrochemistry and their battery components

Skilled in safely handling air/moisture-sensitive chemicals

Plus with experiences of in situ/operando/ex situ synchrotron-based X-ray techniques (XRD, XAS, cell design)

Considerable skill in written and oral communication

The Job: Materials Scientist / Engineer

Work with management to recommend opportunities for technology advancement.

Five or more (5+) years of experience in materials testing, evaluation, or process control.

Review furnace uniformity surveys and heat treat parameters.

Develop heat treat and nitride cycles for new parts or reworks.

Assist manufacturing troubleshooting special processes.

Support engineering/design teams on development programs or problem solving.

Invent new technologies, applications, and methods to expand Foundation Alloy’s toolset, capabilities, and competitive advantage

Doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience gained outside of academia

Experience with computational thermodynamics (CALPHAD) preferred

Results-driven mindset, strong communication skills, and attention to detail

Develop and test several classes of alloys optimized for superior mechanical properties and advanced metal part production

Partner with product management and engineering to continuously improve our materials

Minimum of 5 years industry experience in polymer development: resins, coatings, adhesives, elastomers, films, foams, rubbers, composites, thermoplastics, or thermosets

Experience in process optimization, research reporting, and commercial support; proven track record in commercializing new products

Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to ensure new and existing materials print on our hardware seamlessly and reliably
