College degree/certification required or equivalent experience

Two (2) years of RN Experience

One (1) year of high-volume critical thinking experience

One (1) year of Infusion experience in a hospital or home health setting preferred

Infusion Nurse Essential Duties and Responsibilities

RN License in the State you work

Works in collaboration with home infusion intake to verify eligibility and clinical appropriateness for the prescribed home infusion service.

Responsible for reviewing 100% of all infusion referral service orders for accuracy and appropriateness. Triages referral to the appropriate service provider.

Participates in quality program initiatives and improvement activities including incident reporting and or adverse drug events reports

Serves as main liaison between the pharmacy, referral resources, patient and family members until discharge plans are finalized.

Performs on going documentation regarding referral status and final disposition.

Potential for Physical Assault 40.00%

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

2 years recent relevant experience

Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.

General knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.

Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.

Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record.

Knowledge of the nursing process

Effective written and oral communication skills (in English)

Experience in automated clinical information systems preferred.
