Three (3) years’ experience in correctional, security, military, or police work, to include one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Inmates in assigned unit(s) to ensure public property.

Assists with all inmates counts for accuracy.

Investigates complaints and violations; arbitrates disputes among population and correctional staff.

Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Attends staff meetings, case conferences and trainings as assigned and directed.

Must pass and maintain all required training, certifications, and licensing

Trains, schedules, and supervises the Officers.

Generates and maintains security related control documents, forms, logs, and reports.

This position has the authority to deny access to a security controlled facility, and deny the removal of property.

Initiate the evacuation of a security controlled post/facility if in his or her judgment the action is warranted and appropriate.

Implement disciplinary action in accordance with the Company policies and procedures or Contract expectations.

Considerable knowledge and skill in pumping operations and fire ground hydraulics, and operation of aerial equipment.

Participates in public education programs in schools, civic groups and other locations as requested.

Utah Firefighter I, Firefighter II and ADO-Pumper & Aerial Certifications.

Three (3) years' experience as a full-time firefighter

Considerable knowledge of fire and medical equipment, fire ladders, tools, SCBA, etc.; knowledge of proper care and maintenance of equipment.

Considerable knowledge of city streets, geography and target hazards.
