Entry Level Landscape Architect Designer Jobs

Experience working with jurisdictions in Central Texas and knowledge of their development codes

3 to 5+ years professional experience including:

Experience with the entire design process from concept to construction documents to construction administration

Experience in a wide variety of project types

Accomplished graphic (hand and computer generated), written, and verbal communication skills

Detail oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills

Experience with FAA certification activities, designing to appropriate FAR standards and interfacing with DARs and DERs.

Ability to perform basic static and kinematic analysis using hand calculation techniques, and experience in dynamic and/or thermal analysis

Hands-on experience working with carbon or fiberglass composites, machine shops, specifying fasteners, bearings, and other hardware

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with development of structural or mechanical systems for aircraft .

B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering from accredited university

Experience with client management and project coordination is preferred

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Landscape Architect, with built and published references preferred

Strong conceptual and design skills

Experience in an array of typologies (public, private, master planning) and technical realms (resiliency, large and small scale)

Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (spoken and written)

Knowledge of construction drawing standards, building codes, and accessibility requirements

Strong organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage one’s own time

5-7 years of professional experience

At least 2 years experience working on landscape projects

Experience in all phases of design (Schematic Design through Construction Administration)

Experience with built projects or projects currently under construction

Supporting Project Designer/Project Manager developing design concepts and solutions

0-3 years post graduate experience in similar position at a design firm

As a entry level designer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Utilizing appropriate communication techniques for positive collaboration

Accountability for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of work assigned

Coordinating design details with production team; participating in document production, specifications and construction contract administration as assigned

Collect project data and requirements

0-2 years of related experience to Civil/Site and or Land Development projects

Advanced knowledge of landscape architecture, AutoCAD and plant material for design and vegetation inventories

Working knowledge in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Sketch Up, Photoshop/Illustrator/Visual/Land FX. Lumion program

Working knowledge of MS Office

Participate in initial set up, progress and detailing of sight and landscape plans working with AutoCAD

Education and Exposure to urban design and mixed-use environments.

Arborist Experience, Licensure is a plus

Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or Landscape Architecture

Familiarity with regulatory codes and entitlement processes.

Software proficiency: AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and SketchUp is required.

Basic understanding of plant material, grading and drainage, and construction materials.
