Overview:

Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft and aircraft engines. They inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical and electrical systems, and perform repairs and replacements as needed. They must also be knowledgeable about the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and safety standards.

Detailed Job Description:

Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics inspect, maintain, and repair aircraft and aircraft engines. They inspect and troubleshoot aircraft systems, including engines, landing gear, brakes, and electrical systems. They also inspect and repair aircraft components, such as fuel tanks, hydraulic systems, and airframes. They may also perform preventive maintenance, such as changing engine oil and filters, and replacing spark plugs. They must be knowledgeable about FAA regulations and safety standards.
