Overview Admissions Therapists are responsible for providing mental health services to individuals seeking admission to a mental health facility. They assess the mental health needs of the individual, provide counseling and therapy services, and provide referrals to other mental health professionals. Detailed Job Description Admissions Therapists are responsible for assessing the mental health needs of individuals seeking admission to a mental health facility. They conduct interviews and assessments to determine the individual’s mental health needs and provide counseling and therapy services. They also provide referrals to other mental health professionals and coordinate with other staff members to ensure the individual’s needs are met. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of mental health assessment and diagnosis
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and families
• Ability to work with a variety of mental health professionals
• Knowledge of mental health treatment modalities
• Knowledge of community resources
• Ability to work independently
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field preferred
• Licensure or certification in mental health counseling or therapy
• Experience working with individuals with mental health issues
