Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.

Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.

Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.

Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.

Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.

Graduate of an approved school of Speech Therapy.

Provides for additional work functions in the area of Utilization Management and discharge planning.

May be an occasional need to flex schedule to 9am - 5pm.

Conducts clinical interviews and recommends levels of care consistent with the treatment needs to patients and their families

Recommends and implements general therapeutic interventions both for individual clients and for overall program development

Functions as the therapist for patients and families with the psychiatrist as clinical team leader

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:

Completes EMR documentation of evaluations, treatment notes and re-certifications in a timely manner per departmental guidelines.

Develops programs to attain personal goals and participates in educational activities to insure further professional growth.

Bachelor’s degree in speech and language pathology. Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.

Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities at all times in a professional and appropriate manner.

Develop high quality IEPS for students with disabilities in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Follow all district requirements/procedures/checklists related to service provision, paperwork, and assessments.

Follow all requirements outlined in federal legislation (IDEA/IDEIA) with regards to service delivery, procedural due process, and paperwork requirements.

Administer appropriate modalities, exercise regimens, or treatment procedures according to departmental policies and procedures on standards of treatment care.
