Recreation Leader Jobs

Monitor volunteers to ensure they are meeting city and department requirements as assigned.

Participate in and conduct recreation activities, program planning, attend staff meetings, review current programs and make recommendations to immediate supervisor.

Plan, organize and supervise group activities and programs.

Keep score or records for citywide youth sports programs as needed.

Conduct recreation programs, after-school programs, special events, or youth sports as assigned.

Chaperone at dances, excursions or special events.

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Knowledge of department and recreation facility rules and regulations;

Knowledge of safety principles and procedures involved in recreational activities;

Knowledge of recreation facility programs and activities;

Skill in the use of modern office equipment;

Skill in performing basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages;

Must have experience in working with school age children (5-15 years old)

Must have current certification in American Red Cross First Aid and CPR, or within 60 days of hire date

Temporary/Seasonal employees are limited to work no more than 1000 hours per Fiscal Year.
