Functions as departmental resource and ensures effective communication on exam charges, through advanced knowledge of same.

1. Provides technical skills for the operating functions of the treatment area(s).

Maintains knowledge of PACS and computer systems.

Demonstrates effective knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.

Utilizes advanced knowledge to perform procedures across modalities and in unusual situations.

Completes all hospital required education on time and makes sure employees do as well.

The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration. Current CPR certification. State certifications/licensure as required by the state in which employed

One year experience in diagnostic imaging

Receives, relays and documents verbal, facsimile, electronic and/or telephone orders in the patient's chart as permitted by State and Institutional policies

Determines technique for ionizing radiation during radiologic exams.

Prepares barium preparation and other chemical mixtures for X-rays.

Observes patient and machine during procedure and reports unusual occurrences and records patient's condition.

Must be able to perform manipulative skills such as writing, typing and data entry into the computer system.

Given training and on-the-job experience, should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within one month.

Ascertains price of each item chosen per patron, and enters amount into cash register.

Collects cash (or guest tickets) and makes change.

Locks register when not in use and controls cash receipts.

Reconciles cash receipts against register tape and prepares associated documentation.

Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years purchasing management experience required. Medical supply purchasing preferred.

Assists management with 3rd party vendor evaluation and selection for parts and service purchasing.

Prefers knowledge of Mainsprings database for proper recording of purchased parts in work orders. Require previous experience working in database programs.

Maintains knowledge of Radiology equipment and schematics for adequate procurement of components.

Gathers feedback from our engineers to ensure that parts are meeting all their requirements.

Maintains knowledge and understanding of implementing inventory control systems.

Maintains knowledge of all MRI safety requirements for both staff and patients while in and around magnetic fields

Reports malfunctioning equipment to the department director/manager/supervisor and clinical engineering/radiology engineer.

Assumes responsibility for the exam from beginning of exam until completion of dictated results.

Prepares and administers IV contrast according to departmental protocols. On request, records contrast type and amount.

Is authorized to obtain medication or contrast material as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner.

Practices principle of radiation safety for self, employees, patients and family members. Follows appropriate radiation safety standards

Must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform all diagnostic radiology procedures.

Maintains compliance with Texas Medical Board and ARRT educational requirements.

Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage competing priorities.

Ability to perform job duties in a professional manner at all times.

Assists with administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

Performs basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist.

Identifies and assists patients with questions about procedures.

Prepares patients for exam and ensures patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.

Obtains medications, radiopharmaeceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist or registered nurse.

Assists patients to restrooms, with bedpans, urinals and other ancillary clinical support needs as required.

Collects data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or the situation.

Analyzes the assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.

Promptly assigns beds in accordance with unit criteria and hospital policies

Create pre-admission accounts in Epic for direct admission patients while avoiding the creation of duplicate accounts

Able to successfully navigate in various applications to include but not limited to Cerner and Epic.

Reviews applicable information in Epic and Cerner to assist with proper placement of patients

Coordinate bed clean priorities with environmental services.

Communicates relevant information to coworkers and escalates placement issues to the team lead as necessary.

Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient

Assists Radiologist in performance of invasive procedures

Evaluates technical quality of exam and develops a superior varied technique for elevated efficiency in the department

Reports malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Director, Lead Sonographer and/or Engineer.

Operates the Radiology computer system to include entering and charging exams and supplies.

Maintains assigned work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Assists in keeping the area completely stocked.

Possesses a thorough knowledge of aseptic technique and its application.

Attends in-services/staff meetings; exhibits knowledge of current department related issues and participates in Performance Improvement Process.

Participates in educational opportunities to increase competency and meet personal needs and goals.

Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments prior, during and after surgical procedure.

Performs duties according to department policy and procedure.

Monitors and documents sterilization activities for completion.

Reports malfunctioning equipment to the department director/manager/supervisor and clinical engineering/radiology engineer.

Assumes responsibility for the exam from beginning of exam until completion of dictated results.

Adheres to the hospital fire and safety procedures. Attends all in-service classes and completes all required safety modules.

Follows College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements.

Accurately accessions and registers specimens for processing and testing.

Maintains high quality and productivity as required by department.

Follows designated procedures for labeling and processing; sort and deliver specimens to technical areas as assigned.

Prepares solutions, reagents and supplies as assigned.

Operates all necessary equipment in designated laboratory.

A graduate of an approved JRCERT radiology program (The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiology Technology).

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current

Excellent verbal and communication skills

Operate or oversee operation of radiology or magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.

Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.

Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.

Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.

Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician.

Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity.

Prepares and administers contrast media as required.

Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary.
