Control Room Compliance Jobs

Knowledge of requirements of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, County, State and Federal laws governing Detention Center standards.

Applicants should have good communication and computer skills and also demonstrate comprehensive reading and comprehension skills.

Trains and evaluates the work of staff members when needed.

Provides courteous and informative customer service to the public.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to read, write, understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to take finger prints and maintain records.

Report conditions beyond the troubleshooting/repair capabilities of shift personnel to management.

5 years prior experience as a Control Room Operator in a power plant or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong mechanical aptitude, basic steam plant and combustion turbine knowledge.

Monitor, record and trend readings from the plant control system and steam generating equipment of various models.

Monitor the Gas Turbine control panels to ensure the proper operation of turbine equipment.

Operate the plant in a safe and efficient manner, following all plant procedures, health and safety guidelines, and current operating practices.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines

Enforces all compliance, health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with departmental and regional requirements.

BS in Chemistry or a related science discipline or equivalent work experience required

4 to 6 years of hazardous waste experience preferred

Extensive knowledge in the following areas: DOT, EPA, TSCA, and OSHA

Ensure that the plant is operating in compliance with all operating permits and other regulatory requirements.

Incumbents will be required to successfully complete the Operator training program, in which, will include travel requirements.

Required Computer and Software Skills:

Development of Standard Operating Guidelines related to control room responsibilities

5 years of Oil and Gas Control Room Operating experience required

Minimum 3 years of supervisory and leadership experience in a Control Room

Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must

Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Production Accounting software, SCADA, Camera systems etc.

Basic knowledge of Production, Completion and Workover

Ability to become certified for various high pressure gas pipeline tasks through our Operation Qualification program with Veriforce.

Combined Cycle power plant experience preferred

Responsible for following established operating procedures with reference to proper time and heating limitations when bringing equipment into service and on-line

Required to exercise independent judgment when addressing operational issues as applicable.

Responsible for DOT related gas pipeline duties and is subject to a DOT compliant drug testing program.

Ability to obtain or currently have a Massachusetts Second Class Engineer’s license.

Advises Operations supervision/management of daily activities and irregularities in plant operation.

Understands and operates facility to maintain all compliance requirements. Notifies Supervisor/Manager if non-compliance in environmental and safety occurs.

Control Room Operator Skills and Abilities

Completes assigned training requirements both online and in-person.

Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office 365, and SAP.
