Job Description
Responsible for providing and overseeing the Human Resources activities in a specific zone for Company owned and operated restaurants. Works closely with Zone Vice-Presidents, Corporate Human Resources and National Training as it applies to all HR related activities in the zone. Manages administrative human resource related duties and colleague issues while ensuring compliance and consistency in federal, state, and local laws and company policies. Travels to provide support, assistance and/or direction to applicable markets in the zone.
Key Responsibilities
Maintains highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity to all HR related matters and information.
Acts as a liaison between departments (payroll, benefits, workers compensation, and HR)
Assesses zone HR training needs for both exempt and non-exempt colleagues and makes recommendations on potential solutions. Partners with Zone HR Director and/or Director, Field HR to work with Zone Vice Presidents (ZVPs), Market Directors, Recruiter/Trainers and National Training to develop training plans, identify instructors and strategies to meet training needs and goals.
Participates in the recruitment and selection of the Human Resource team within the zone. Provides leadership, coaching, training and development to zone HR staff and ensures the team fulfills their job responsibilities as indicated on their job description. Provides feedback on performance on a quarterly and annual basis.
Responsible for creating, updating and getting approvals from Sr. VP, Company Operations; Legal; Corporate Human Resources; ZVPs; Director, Field HR; and others as required for all policies that impact company operations, including the field colleague handbook.
Timely and effective communication using all forms of communication (written, phone, conference calls, workshops, store visits, etc.) to ensure markets are aware of all plans/changes, implementation steps and to address any concerns. Will represent the zone in national human resource leader meetings and communicate information back to HR team.
Provides necessary reports and analyzes information from these reports to assist in managing human resources within the zone (i.e. staffing reports, compensation reports, salary analysis, EEO-1 reports, organizational charts, HRIS, certification analysis, etc.).
Oversee compensation processes for all zone colleagues, including store and management unit colleagues. This includes overseeing the job performance appraisal process; ensuring pay increases are within company guidelines, maintaining organization charts and ensuring salary is within company guidelines for all newly hired office staff.
Provides guidance on performance management issues (i.e. disciplinary issues, L.C. standards and policies, action planning, etc.) to ZVP, Market Directors and Human Resource team.
Monitors, audits, and investigates HR related matters and regulations with/for EEOC, DOL or any other charges of a legal manner in consultation with Director, Field Human Resources. Serves as consultant to and oversees all complaints raised by colleagues that are investigated by a Human Resource Generalist (i.e. Ethics/Value Line, sexual harassment, etc.) and Loss Prevention. Stays up to date on regulatory or legal changes that effect our business. Provides education regarding federal and state employment laws to ZVP, Market Director, Supervisors, Recruiter/Trainers, Store Managers and Human Resource team for market implementation and follow-up.
Travels within the zone, as required, to support and assist in human resource and training functions. Completes market visit follow-up report, after each visit, outlining action plans to achieve zone/market goals.
Assists and plans event and programs as directed.
Conducts field training sessions as needed.
Assist with recruitment for field office support staff positions, within the zone.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Undergraduate degree in human resources, business or a related field. Equivalent applicable experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Four to seven years proven human resource generalist experience in a multi-unit environment (including recruitment, training, employee relations, employment law interpretation, risk management, compensation, records administration, HRIS, benefits administration, payroll, etc.).
Evidence of excellent analytical, problem-solving and planning skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
Ability to work and delegate efficiently to ensure timeliness on all projects.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal employment laws (i.e. FMLA, ADA, OSHA, FLSA, etc.)
Demonstrated knowledge of state and local employment laws in designated zone of responsibility.
Evidence of proficiency with MS Office Suite.
The ability to travel and adhere to the Little Caesars travel policy.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
PHR or SPHR certified; MS/MBA in related field.
The ability to speak, write, and read Spanish fluently.
Working Conditions
30-40% travel within zone. Travel may be by automobile or airplane.
Must have available credit to pay for travel expenses per Little Caesars travel policy.
Work hours may include nights and weekends depending on business needs.
