The Youth Care Worker is responsible for all direct care to adolescents at a temporary youth’s residential facility. They always provide a continuous line of sight supervision to their assigned children. They ensure safety and quality care of all children and contractual requirements and client’s expectations are met. They assist children with their valuables, clothing, laundry, and transportation to appointments. They report to the Lead Youth Care Worker or department lead. All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles, and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity is recognized.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs Emergency Behavioral Intervention (EBI) and effectively monitor and execute the shelter’s
  • Must be able to perform CPR/first aid, if necessary.
  • Must be able to supervise children indoors and outdoors throughout the entire duration of their shift.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with experience working as a childcare worker.
  • Ability to exercise patience when interacting with children
  • Clean Child Abuse and Neglect (CA/N) or Child Protective Services Check.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field
  • Clean criminal background check.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under stress.
  • Preferred: postsecondary education in early childhood education or Child Development Associate (CDA) or The National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) credentials or experience working in Head Start and Early Head Start programs
  • Proficient in Spanish & English (Read, Write, Speak, and Comprehend).
  • A care and approachable nature
  • Minimum age of 21 years or older.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with children in child welfare or social service setting.
  • Excellent presentation skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer, common office equipment, and MS Office™ products required.
