Yoga Instructor Jobs

Arch Amenities Group, the world's leading spa, fitness and leisure firm, is seeking a Yoga Instructor to lead group fitness classes at STEELFIT located at the U.S. Steel Tower in downtown Pittsburgh, PA. The Yoga Instructor is responsible for providing quality fitness classes and/or programs designed to meet the needs of members and guests. Ideal candidates will be certified in Yoga and have prior success as a Yoga Instructor.

STEELFIT is hiring (1) candidate for this position at $42 per hour. The hired candidate will receive free parking in the Steel Tower garage during scheduled classes along with a free membership.

Responsibilities:

• Arriving to teach class in advance of the scheduled time to greet participants, answer questions and address concerns
• Attends all scheduled meetings
• Dressing appropriately for teaching exercise classes
• Ensures that class areas are clean and set according to procedures.
• Sharing educational information with your class participants
• Keeping up-to-date on safety and fitness trends
• Arriving well-prepared, music cued and routine thought out
• Knowing the names of participants who attend your classes
• Other duties as assigned
• Attends schedules professional trainings.
• Begins and ends all classes on time.
• Motivating class participants to the best of your ability
• Noting new participants and sharing basic exercise information with them
• Reporting any equipment/facility problems to the management team
• Teaching classes with energy and enthusiasm
• Ensuring that a safe and healthy environment exists for exercising

Qualifications:

• Must be able to think independently and develop routines for teaching specific exercise classes
• Ability to lift 25 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• This position required the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talk
• Must be able to keep confidences and practice discernment
• Normal work hours: varied to include nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must have a valid and nationally accredited First Aid, CPR and/or AED Certification
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills to work positively with different populations, in groups and individually
• Must be a certified Yoga instructor (RYT 200, at minimum) through an approved nationally accredited organization
• The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
• Must be in excellent physical condition to teach group exercise
• Must be well-organized and prepared to teach classes
• Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury
