What Your Job Will Be Like


Are you passionate about your work? Do you want to join a dynamic team that solves challenging issues for our nation's security? If so, Organization 03731, Occupational Medicine, is currently seeking an X-Ray Technician to deliver care to Sandia National Laboratories employees through the Clinical Services Organization!

On any given day, one may be called upon to:

  • Use radiation in producing images of patients’ body parts, bones, and internal organs, in which they are then used by doctors to diagnose and treat conditions
  • Explain x-ray procedures to patients, set up equipment, position patients properly to produce quality images, and operate x-ray machines
  • Perform quality assurance activities and other clinical administrative duties
  • Works directly with patients and maintain records of patients
  • Provide routine diagnostic x-ray examinations and pulmonary function testing
  • Follow safety procedures by using protective gear, such as a radiation shield, to avoid dangerous radiation that both the patients and the medical staff may be exposed to

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

This is a recurrent employee position, meaning the position is required to hold a specific certification and license. Recurrent employees are part-time employees reporting to meet minimum force requirements in special operational areas.

Qualifications We Require

  • The ability to acquire and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • A Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
  • A current certification or the ability to become certified to perform Pulmonary Function Tests
  • The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance
  • An active NM Radiography License

About Our Team


Employee Health Services is a multi-disciplinary health care clinic serving the 15,000+ SNL employees on site with health and wellness services.

Posting Duration

Security Clearance

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs


If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
