Job Description

Summary

The Engineer/Technologist will be responsible for performing and enhancing Non-Destructive Evaluations (NDE) as it pertains to XRF (x-ray fluorescence) elemental material compositions. This position involves NDE application development and technical leadership supporting the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) network.

  • Work closely with Engineering and Quality teams meeting business commitments.
  • Completing XRF inspections to meet business needs
  • Provide NDE technical support as needed
  • Development of automated XRF applications and inspections
  • Will be located at a manufacturing facility and will provide day-to-day support as needed
  • Identifying and advocating for equipment and process improvements
  • Strong robotic and automation expertise
  • Advancing NDE technologies at our MRO shops specifically as it pertains to XRF technologies

Required Qualifications

  • FAA DOT drug testing required.
  • Ability to travel required.
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of NDE experience (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of NDE experience). NDE technologies experience such as: FPI, white light inspection, UT, Eddy Current, Radiographic Inspection, etc.

  • Demonstrated history of effective horizontal leadership
  • Proven ability to deploy and maintain safe working practices
  • Strong teamwork skills and experience in a teaming environment
  • Capable of certification to a Level 3 per NAS-410
  • Familiarity with shop manufacturing processes such as: Shot peen, grit blast, chemical cleaning & stripping, benching & blending
  • Experience applying Lean/Six Sigma to help improve process performance
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Ability to interface with environmental, health and safety to author and institutionalize policies
  • Documented NDE training and certification records
  • Familiar with robot programming and automation integration (Motoman)
  • Strong understanding of shop operations
  • Leadership ability: Strong communicator, decision maker, collaborative
  • Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification or extensive quality experience
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
  • Familiar with XRF technology
