Description
- Edit, produce, and QA reviews and other stories in our content management system
- Represent PCMag at vendor meetings, industry events, and trade shows.
- Verify and populate product specs and performance data
- Occasionally appear in videos related to the beats you cover
- Regularly update evergreen articles
- Contribute regularly to team and larger staff-wide meetings, pitching your own stories, collaborating, and ideating with team members
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key vendors
- Get ahead of trends and proactively seek news and products for review. You will help shape our coverage in key categories, so you need to know what's now, what's coming soon, and what's on the horizon.
- Engage in detailed product testing and comparison to write clear, authoritative product reviews, roundups, buying guides, features, tips stories, and news
- 2 to 3 years of professional writing/editing experience at an established website, magazine, or newspaper, preferably with a technology focus. Product review experience is a major plus.
- You should be comfortable with online publishing platforms, taking product photos and/or videos, and digital image manipulation.
- The ability to write quickly and clearly is an absolute must.
- Our offices are located in New York City. We’re willing to consider applicants interested in remote working arrangements, but you must be able to work our standard hours of 9AM-5PM ET.
- You must be a motivated self-starter who can independently prioritize projects and be able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. A strong work ethic and strict attention to detail are keys to success in this role.
- You should be familiar with SEO and interested in audience analytics. Familiarity with these tools are a plus; willingness to learn is required.
- A demonstrable interest in mobile technology, plus a willingness to learn at a rapid pace. Knowledge of the industry and established contacts are both big pluses.
