A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WORK READINESS INSTRUCTOR


As a Work Readiness Instructor with our human services nonprofit, your day is packed with diverse and fulfilling responsibilities. You kickstart your day by confidently deciding to uphold agency policies and expectations. You excel in this teaching position by establishing trust and rapport with program participants while also engaging them in life skills, wellness workshops, and sector/employer-based training.


Your enthusiasm for professional development shines through as you deliver monthly training for staff on standard topics while coordinating with community agencies to bring in presenters for budgeting and nutrition. Utilizing your creativity, you plan and develop materials for each class, assigning daily homework and tracking progress toward job readiness. Your commitment to helping others is evident as you take the initiative to contact and reschedule participants who miss appointments.


You wrap up your day by completing weekly case notes, organizing hiring fairs, and industry panels, and practicing interview sessions with area employers. Your positive and professional demeanor represents our human services nonprofit in the best light possible. Qualifications For Work Readiness Instructor


  • Bachelor's degree, equivalent education, or experience required
  • 3+ years experience working with job placement/job preparedness training
