The Stick Carver Assistant will assist the Oneida Heritage Rental/Sales Manager with the crafting and processing of traditional lacrosse sticks.

Responsibilities:

• Effectively processes the hides for netting.
• Hand carves lacrosse sticks according to traditional methods.
• Roughs and finishes sanding as needed for each stick.
• Maintains pro shop, archery range, programming, and oversees level 1 training.
• Aids Manager in the steaming of logs.
• Repairs bows for archery, including strings and knocks.
• Assists in harvesting of trees utilized in stick making process.
• Preps logs for stick making process.
• Builds and repairs arrows.
• Makes recurve, compound, and long bows.
• Ensures that the shop is kept clean and safe.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in wood crafting preferred.
• Must possess the ability to safely utilize wood working tools.
• Must possess attention to detail.
• High School Diploma or Equivalency preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally over 100 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time.
