GENERAL SUMMARY

The Wind Site Manager shall have responsibility for the day-to-day operation and maintenance requirements of the Goodnight I farm including management of the Service and Maintenance Agreement with Vestas.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  • Create and maintain Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for maintenance tasks, regulatory requirements, and site equipment material history
  • Establish and maintain good relations with land owners, local contractors, community leaders and other project stakeholders
  • Ensure roads and wind turbine access is maintained
  • Assist with the creation of and approve the revisions to site specific procedures for the safe site operations
  • Coordinate service and maintenance activities as per equipment specifications
  • Responsible for integrating all aspects of plant operations and maintenance in order to:

a.) operate safely

b.) minimize impact on the environment

c.) maximize generation of revenue within all regulatory and contractual requirements

  • Recruit, hire, train, direct, and manage company operating and maintenance personnel
  • Create and administer agreements with subcontractors
  • Support preparation and submittal of the periodic reports to the customer
  • Keep Owner’s Representative appraised of significant site activities, incidents, and communications with various stakeholders and local officials
  • Prepare budgets, monthly reports, and other administrative information as required in accordance with the Operating Maintenance Agreement (OMA)
  • Administer the weather forecasting contract, if applicable
  • Responsible for other requirements as detailed in the OMA and as directed by the direct supervisor
  • Administer the Vestas Service and Maintenance Agreement
  • Provide input for the forecasting of anticipated power production
  • Review contractor monthly reports
  • Serve as day-to-day and emergency contact point for all O&M-related activities

NAES SAFE

Safety is a core value of NAES and as a condition of employment, all employees are expected to be mentally alert and work safely at all times. All NAES managers and supervisors (“Supervisors”) have a direct and important role in ensuring that all work is performed in a healthy and safe manner. Effectiveness in carrying out this responsibility is part of the evaluation of each supervisor’s performance. This includes, but is not limited to, the following functions:

  • Conduct Regular Observation Tours: Conduct no less than two safety observation tours of high risk activities to verify that employees are performing the work in accordance with safe practices, company procedures and OSHA regulations
  • Establish and lead these activities following any rules, requirements or guidance established in your business unit, group or division
  • Involve all NAES teammates in the activities
  • Conduct/Support Regular Safety Meetings (at least monthly)
  • Analyze result, write work orders, train and educate to eliminate hazards, at-risk behavior and meet company regulatory requirements
  • Regular and Frequent Contacts: conduct one-on-one contact sessions with workers to discuss safety issues, communicate expectations and coach safe behaviors, e.g., whether the employee is wearing all required personal protective equipment
  • Conduct Inspections and Observations: establish a regular inspection of the work area and a safety observation process of work being performed
  • Respond to Incidents: respond to all safety-related incidents including, but not limited to injuries, incidents and near misses; write a report that explains what happened, identify the cause and recommend corrective action following any established business unit or division practice. Follow up as necessary to ensure that corrective action is taken.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Plant Manager reports to the Operations Director and supervises the O&M Technicians. The Plant Manager is the single point of contact between NAES Corporation and the Owner on all matters pertaining to the operation and maintenance of the wind farm. The Plant Manager cooperates with others within NAES Corporation as needed.

Compensation

The initial compensation will range from $125,000 - $135,000

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods of time and requiring occasional wind turbine climbing. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, climb assist, etc.).

Position requires 12 hour rotating shifts and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions around the wind farm.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supervising hourly personnel; strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent desired
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Computer literacy is required, including spreadsheet and work processing programs
  • We are seeking a candidate who has extensive power plant technical and leadership experience with a work history that demonstrates a pattern of accomplishments and advancement
  • Experience in wind turbine commissioning, operation and maintenance required
