Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Columbus, OH
  • Ongoing Contract
  • Part-Time, ~20 hours/week
  • Remote


Our client is seeking a contractor who can design websites. You will not only be responsible for the design but the strategy, conceptualization, and planning for websites for a wide variety of clients. ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

  • Founded in 1963 with offices in Columbus, OH, and Washington, D.C.
  • This firm’s clients come from the education, corporate, financial, and healthcare sectors
  • A leader in public relations, public affairs, digital marketing, research, and more

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring consistency in the execution of brand standards, supporting the strategy of creative briefs, and possessing strong attention to detail
  • Creating graphic elements (including icons and banners) and layouts that are appealing and user-friendly on mobile and desktop devices
  • Continuously developing software skills and staying up to date on web design trends
  • Creating design concepts in programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Adobe XD or Figma. Also, identifying web design issues and ensuring browser and cross-platform consistency
  • Conducting quality assurance steps to identify possible problems before launch of website
  • Working collaboratively with client account team members to manage design projects that inspire clients and ensure client goals and objectives are met or exceeded, on time and on budget — with measured results
  • Creating designs and expert guidance on the overall look, feel, and functionality of web projects, using wireframes and mockups. And assisting in managing web design projects to completion in partnership with the client and account teams and in alignment with the client's goals


REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills as well as experience working under tight deadlines
  • A minimum of eight years of experience working with teams in conceptualization, design and execution of websites
  • Self-motivated to achieve goals
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills with the ability to present complex ideas
  • A bachelor’s degree in art, web design, graphic design or a related field
  • Experience in maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of the design and production process
  • A portfolio of work and experience
  • Familiar with languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, understand UX/UI design, and have a knowledge of SEO and web design issues, including browser and cross-platform consistency


BONUS SKILLS:

  • Agency experience is a plus
