As a member of the web development support team, the Web Developer will play an integral role in improving the level of support given to our customers. The Web Developer will work closely with the team to solve complex customer issues, work on bug fixes and help the team assess and improve the code.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Successfully worked in a high tier of support on very large SaaS applications.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services considered a plus.
• At least 2-5 years of experience writing Java
• Experience working in highly collaborative teams.
• Demonstrated knowledge of analytics tools (Splunk or New Relic preferred)
• Experience with Jenkins considered a plus.
• Ability to hand write SQL queries
• Experience with ticketing and bug tracking systems
• At least one year of experience writing HTML, JavaScript, or Angular.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with Source Code Management Tools (Git Preferred)
• Shown an aptitude for working in a quickly changing environment, while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently to solve complex customer issues.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an IT field preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and analyze core application metrics to assess performance
• Develop tools to help us better support our customers.
• Review other Developers’ code to ensure the highest level of quality.
• Solve customer issues in a timely manner.
• Challenge team leadership with new ideas and approaches to common problems experienced by our customers, both internal and external.
• Work closely with other support team members to discuss and solve issues.
• Develop code for regular maintenance releases.
• Develop solutions to technical debt items, to improve app stability and maintainability.
• Assist support lead in improving processes and documentation across the team.
• Work with a team of experienced developers to improve the level of support for the flagship SaaS of the Yearbook division.
• Investigating and solving unique customer issues, which can’t be handled by the customer-facing technical support team.
• Identify areas and solutions for future improvement to the application.
• Identify and fix software bugs.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit in front of a computer for hours at a time.
