GHID pays 100% of the benefit premiums for Medical, Dental, Life and Disability Insurance GHID also contributes to two retirement plans on your behalf - a 401(k) and Utah Retirement Systems (pension plan) Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Actively assist the Division Manager in controlling the field operations of the District's operations facilities including groundwater sources, wastewater pumping stations, storage reservoirs, boosters, pressure/flow regulating stations, and related appurtenances. Uses analytics to operate the District's facilities to achieve goals and measures set forth by the Operations Master Plan. Gather and report project data for record keeping processes. Assist the Division Manager in the execution of the Operations Master Plan. Under the direction of the Division Manager, supervise and train on-call operators to competently perform their duties and promote professional and productive behaviors. Monitor programming, wiring, troubleshooting, and assist in the repair of all aspects of the SCADA system; Work with the Instrumentation technician on any SCADA repairs or implementation. Assist in the preparation of the annual operational technology division budget. Help plan for system repair and replacement needs and maintain a prioritized inventory of projects for annual budgeting. Assist the Division Manager in monitoring and controlling expenditures and priorities required by budget constraints. Monitor and evaluate water deliveries and annual water purchase contract fulfillment. Meet or communicate regularly with wholesale water agency to provide input and identify additional service needs. Modify system operations to meet emergency and emerging needs. Assist the Division Manager in coordinating with engineering and administrative divisions on system operations, field activities, and special system repairs. Assist in the coordination of capital improvement completions, start-up, testing, and transfer to normal operations. Actively participate in the water system on-call program by accepting call responsibilities. General Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The requirements of this position provide that the employee work in a safety sensitive manner and should carry out his/her duties as such. Prior Work Experience: At least four years of job-related prior experience including experience as a water and/or wastewater operator or prior experience in a closely related field. Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical training in electrical, mechanical and/or plumbing preferred. Licenses, Certifications, Etc.: Utah Grade IV Water Distribution Certification. Utah Wastewater Collections Grade IV Certification. Valid driver's license required. Special Consideration: Candidate must have either a Utah Grade IV Water Distribution Certification and Utah Wastewater Collections Grade IV Certification and/or have the ability to obtain the missing required certification within 12 months. Background Knowledge: Must have basic supervisory and mathematical skills; ability to manage personal and organizational dynamics and provide direction for operators in the operation's division using policies and procedures. Requires a working knowledge of advanced technical procedures for the industry including pipe networks, hydraulic systems, pump stations, wells, water treatment, electrical, telemetry, instrumentation, meter specifications and structural systems. R equires a working knowledge of the District's products and services; knowledge of short-range technical plans; basic knowledge of overall long-range plans. Requires knowledge in computer use skills including use of asset management software and supervisory control and data acquisition software (SCADA).
