Water & Sewer System Operator

Job Summary
The Water & Sewer System Operator installs, repairs, and maintains water and sewer mains and lines. Essential Job Functions
Installs, maintains, and repairs water and sewer mains and lines;
Operates a backhoe, trencher, front-end loader, and dump truck to install water and sewer services;
Locates and repairs leaks in water and sewer lines;
Makes water and sewer taps;
Maintains wells; adds chemicals and performs preventive maintenance;
Sets water meters;
Performs preventive maintenance procedures on assigned equipment;
Operates a boring machine to install water and sewer pipe;
Flushes and cleans water and sewer lines;
Answers emergency service calls as required;
Sets barricades, cones, and warning signs at work sites.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED;
One (1) year of experience in a related field;
Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience; and
Valid State of Georgia Driver"s License;
Water Distribution System Operator certification within 12 months of employment.
