Waste Water Technician Jobs

Alpenrose Dairy, a 100 year old iconic Portland brand, is looking for an Waste Water Technichian that has experience working in a waste water plant and enjoys the science of ensuring we are sending balanced and clean water back into the water system.
This position is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the onsite wastewater treatment system and storm water management in the late afternoon and evenings when our most critical water usage is happening. This role works with our Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities Include

• Gather monthly stormwater samples
• Inspect emergency eyewash/shower stations weekly and fire extinguishers monthly
• Complete daily documentation and chart reporting
• Stormwater
• Wastewater
• Facilitate good relationships with vendors and our outside partners
• Inspect basins monthly and maintain log
• Ensure that probes are calibrated and documented
• Comply with all required practices outlined in the company Stormwater Pollution Control Plan (SWPCP)
• Other duties
• Clean basins and coordinate with Maintenance manager when third party cleaning may be necessary
• Ensure that all aspects of wastewater system are functioning
• Maintain biobags, oil pillows and storm filters
• Run wastewater system Monday - Friday; 3:30 pm to 11:30 pm evenings, occasional overtime.
• Collect quarterly lab samples
• Coloborate with maintenance as needed
• Other areas of growth for this position may be helping with SOP creation and updating, learning about waste water and storm water permits, etc.

Qualifications Needed To Be Successful

• Must be able to walk and stand on concrete for 8 hours a day
• Experience with wastewater and upkeep on the wastewater mechanical systems preferred
• Must be able to bend, stoop, twist and turn in confined areas
• Some college courses in waste water, environmental sciences or related field preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly without help.
