Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. About The Position


Under general supervision the Warehouse Specialist orders, receives, stores, inventories and issues a wide variety of items in support of a department warehouse, storage operation or yard. In this position you will interact with a wide variety of people servicing the many Maricopa County departments. This position has a high emphasis on customer service and requires a detailed and organized individual who is self-motivated and reliable. We are looking for a person who is positive and values helping others.

We Require


  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
  • A combination of training, education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED
  • One year of related warehouse or inventory control experience

Job Contributions


  • Prepare report, log, and basic records
  • Process and maintain inventory control records showing present location, transfer or disposal of property
  • Order supplies and equipment to keep adequate stock on hand
  • Perform physical counts of inventory throughout the year
  • Drive a light-duty vehicle to make pickups and deliveries
  • Perform minor maintenance and repair to items; moves, assembles and disassembles furniture and equipment
  • Perform physical labor and support tasks associated with inventory control
  • Operate material handling equipment such as a forklift or pallet jack
  • Receive and unpack items; review shipping documents for correct quantity and merchandise; inspect for damage; unload, store and deliver supplies and materials


Working Conditions


  • Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 - 20 pounds constantly
  • Warehouse environment that may involve exposure to adverse weather conditions and related hazards
  • The work will occur in an office and field environment. While performing the duties & responsibilities the employee maybe exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations
  • Position is subject to atmospheric conditions: Fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
  • Must be able to lift to 75 pounds and carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds on carts and hand trucks Must be able to work in confined areas on and around heavy equipment and trucks
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by the time of hire


Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware:


  • Hand tools, forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, hand trucks, golf cart, flatbed truck, computers, CGI software


Protective Equipment Required:


  • Hard hat, gloves, safety boots, safety glasses
